For those of you who don’t follow me on social media, my current work in progress is an incredibly intricate double exposure portrait of my older sister.

"Uncovered Voice"
I have finally finished my newest Terra Human piece! This one is really special to me and here is why. This piece brings an illustration to the concept of personal viewpoint. How every individual has a personal filter through which they interpret the world around them.
This concept has always been a background insecurity of mine, while growing up I was always worried that I did not have a unique way of seeing the world and therefor had no voice. Even when I created art I thought it was soulless and absent of a unique perspective. I remember expressing my insecurity about this to a friend in college when I was exploring the idea of becoming and artist after graduation. I distinctly remember telling her that I felt that every artist must have a voice to express their message to viewers and I genuinely worried that I didn’t have a voice to amplify through my art. I worried that my thoughts and ideas were not worth seeing on canvas and that I had no unique viewpoint. This friend reassured me that I did have a voice and it might take time and effort to find it, but was inside me. I listened to this advice and had faith that if I continued developing my skills and creativity I would eventually start to uncover my voice in my art.
And now I think I am at a point in my career where I am finally starting to discover my voice. I think this will be a lifelong process but I am finally starting to work through this insecurity and discover my window through which I see the world.
Thanks for listening

How I Painted "As One"
Hi friends, I just wanted to share my process video for my newest Terra Human piece “As One.” This piece was a pleasure to create and i wanted to document as much of the process as I could so I hope you enjoy this compilation of all the time lapses I took!
Castle Rock Commission is Done!
My latest commission is done! I really enjoyed the tackling the challenges of this piece from it's massive scale, to the minuscule details of the houses to the fluffy clouds. Castle Rock is truly a beautiful area and I feel honored to recreate it as a painting. I hope you enjoy these photos and be sure to check out the time-lapse video at the bottom!

I frequently reminisce about the creation of this piece because I was able to paint on sight surrounded by the stunning nature of New Mexico.
Newest Terra Human!
In this piece I wanted to portray a sense of longing and containment. The person can see and experience his surroundings but while still contained in a window sill. When I created the photoshop renderings (seen below) I was very pleased with the dynamic landscape and how it affected the composition of the piece.
The figure interacts with the steep mountains by almost leaning on them and looking into the distant sunlight.
I love the flying birds in this piece and how they create space and distance visually but also a theme of freedom this is just out of grasp.

Forest Landscape Time Lapse
Hi friends, here is a timelapse of the first few hours working on a new landscape study. I really enjoyed creating this new piece while using this new color palette. It should be done soon!
Three Paintings Sold!
I’m very happy to say that three of my lovely Terra Human paintings have been sold to a single collector at the RiNo Music and Arts Showcase! This was an excellent show featuring over 30 unique and talented artists and several local bands.
This very kind collector told me she was looking for art that would make her smile every time she looked at it and these three fit the bill!
Here are some photos of all three paintings hanging next to each other.
"Old Mill" Fall Landscape Finished!
I’m very happy to have finished my latest fall landscape featuring Crystal Mill! This piece was a great exercise in clearly rendering a foreground, middle ground and background while creating a strong focal point. This location makes for a great image because of the interesting structure of the mill and the way it fits so nicely into the surrounding landscape
While creating this piece I really enjoyed jumping around to different spots of the painting to add details and colors. I have gotten so used to rendering figures that its nice to just focus on a landscape and have fun with the slow and steady process.
This 12”x16” oil painting is available for $170. Click HERE to purchase!
Face Painting Time-lapse
Hi guys here is a zoomed in time-lapse of a face I'm working on for a new Terra Human piece. You can see in the video that my base layer of paint on the face is mostly a neutral value so I go in and add some dark shadows and light highlights along with more precise details.
New Painting Style
So I've been experimenting with a new style that I am hoping will stick! This style consists of loose brush strokes, geometric stylization and an emphasis on texture. I am hoping to primarily apply this style to my Terra Human series because I think it will fit nicely and can portray the emotions and humanism that are inherent in a figure.
In my exploration of this new style I have decided to recreate my original small painting titled "Sensitive." The concept of this piece is very personal to me and I feel like I can really do the image justice by making it bigger and more emotive. The photo below is a progress picture of me working on this piece. I am already really excited about the look of it and I cannot wait to see where it goes!
Williams Lake Painting Time-lapse
Hey guys, here is a fun time-lapse video of my live twitch stream in which I started a new landscape piece! This painting is based off a great drone photo over the lake so I love the elevated perspective. I hope you enjoy seeing my process!
