Decided to try some watercolor painting during our mini vacation to Winter Park a few weeks ago ! So happy that I was able to find this little spot to setup and throw some color around. It's been a long time since I've painted in watercolor so it was nice to try something different!

In Washington for the Holidays
Hi friends, as I’m sure all of you know, the holidays can be a very busy time so I haven’t been able to update my website recently. I’m still calculating the donation for ACE Scholarships but my rough estimate is over $300!
Anyways I wanted to share a few photos with you of me working on some small paintings while in Bainbridge with my family.
Here is a close up of a small study I did overlooking the Puget Sound, it was a great challenge to capture the light and how it affected the clouds and water.
Painting Outdoors!
Painting ouside in the Valles Caldera National Preserve and the Jemez National Recreation Area brought me back to my childhood! The experience of being surrounded by nature with nothing but my thoughts and actions brought me back to a simpler way of thinking. I was able to breath and see things for what they were.
Normally when I paint in my studio space I am surrounded by my technology which serve as portals to social media, videos, conversations and distractions from the actual act of observation. So this outdoor experience refreshed me and got me to focus up on what was important in that single moment.
I hope to have many more outdoor painting excursions this summer so that I can further my skill and learn to live in the moment and be fully present in nature.
