Moment

This piece was an exploration of figures in the midst of a dance. The loose nature of the brushwork is meant to illustrate the motion of bodies and the exhilarating emotions that accompany human contact. As a painter it can be very difficult to illustrate movement and especially human movement so when I started this piece I knew I wanted it to be abstract and subtle. The textures and brushstrokes that make up the figures were inspired by the movements of fire and water and I also wanted these figures to be one with the background.
