Crested Butte

This piece was inspired by my first visit to Crested Butte and the amazing landscape that surrounded the town. The peak seemed to loom over the town giving it a protective and inspirations presence. In this piece I wanted to highlight the transition from summer to fall with the changing colors of the aspen trees. In this landscape and others in the same area the yellow aspens gave amazing warm highlights to the hills and cliffs.
